Annual General Meeting of Society for the Care of the Blind was held on 23rd October 2009.
The meeting was presided by Sh. Pradip Mehra, IAS, Adviser to the Administrator U.T. Chandigarh who is Ex-officio President of the Society. Many members of the Executive Committee, representatives of U.T. Administration like Director of Social Welfare Women & Child Welfare departments attended. The Senior Vice President Maj. Gen. Rajendra Nath (Retd.); briefed the gathering on the highlights of the achievements & activities of the Institute during the last year. The President, Sh. Pradip Mehra was appreciative the functioning of the institute and emphasized the following:-
(a) It is one the best run institutes for the blind in the country.
(b) Though running on charity, the institute is self sustaining.
(c) Institute has achieved excellent results in academics, sports and other fields.
(d) Students passing out of the institute have either gone for higher studies or have been settled in life and have taken their rightful place in the society.
